Joe Murphy - The Coaches Coach

Joe Murphy

Joe Murphy has been an career coach and advisor since 1991. His specialty is working with successful people who want to become even more successful. He has been in private practice since 2001. The common denominator for most of Joe’s clients is the motivation to learn more about themselves by asking those around them. They realize the way they interact with others and how t hey affect others is crucial. Joe has helped a wide range of executives develop innovative behavioral changes that allowed them to become more effective leaders. For ten years, he was a member of Right Management Consultants, the world’s largest Human Resource Consulting firm, where he coached managers and executives from most of Northern California’s Fortune 500 companies.

Joe has consulted with a wide variety of people such as radio and TV personalities, painters, improvisational experts, artists, musicians, graphic artists, and other coaches. Because of his practical, humorous and interactive style, Joe is frequently invited to be a speaker and corporate consultant. He has presented at corporate retreats and conferences around the country. His many writing credits include a spiritual guide for people facing career transitions. and a co-authored book on participative management. His podcasts can be downloaded at Careerfyi.com. He teaches coaching courses at San Francisco State University and the University of Phoenix.

Joe has lived in San Francisco with his wife, Cathy, since 1993. He earned an MBA from the University of Colorado.

Liz Cunningham - Leadership Coach

Liz Cunningham

Liz Cunningham coaches leaders and their teams helping them determine values-based strategies and inspiring their people to execute action plans. She integrates multiple concepts – leadership, sustainable change, organizational culture, communication – as she partners with senior leadership teams to leverage strategic initiatives and create cultures of productivity that enhance the lives of staff and generate loyalty. As part of a cultural change project for a large healthcare organization in Colorado, she integrated a select group of highly experienced coaches into the learning process for managers and executives. This project was featured in the December, 2003 issue of Nurse Leader.

With twenty years experience helping executives and teams from a wide span of industries, Liz brings comparable experience to the Geodesic Team of executive coaches.

She is a member of the Professional Coaches and Mentors Association and is on the coaching faculty of The Center for Creative Leadership, the U.S. leading nonprofit institution dedicated exclusively to leadership. A graduate of Seattle University with a B.S. in Nursing, Liz was a clinician, administrative director, and educator in health care prior to beginning graduate study at the University of Denver. She holds a master’s degree in Human Communication and has completed coursework for a doctorate in Organizational Communication.

John Renesch - Conscious Mentoring

John Renesch

John Renesch is a businessman-turned-futurist, writer and international keynote speaker on topics that integrate the subjects of work, leadership and human consciousness. His mentoring style is Socratic, asking questions that provoke and challenge clients, helping them gain clarity and awareness, which leads to more fulfilling work/lives in the future. As a mentor/coach, he has a unique perspective with four decades of experience running companies. Having worked in positions of major responsibility, John knows the challenges and concerns that can be such a common part of a leader's job.

John has been a business owner and entrepreneur for over thirty years, having served as Managing Director and CEO for two NASD broker-dealer security firms, an advertising agency, a real estate investment corporation and an events production company.

John is the author of numerous articles, including "Walking in Their Moccasins", an article on executive coaching. He has published twelve books to date and offers a free monthly newsletter, FutureShapers Monthly. His latest book is Getting to the Better Future: A Matter of Conscious Choosing. George Beckstead - Working with the World

George Beckstead

George Beckstead has been a college professor, a men's gymnastic coach, an Olympic judge and, most recently, an international federation executive. He has worked with civic leaders, corporate sponsors and business executives from all over the world. This unique experience provides him with unique qualifications for executive coaching. Recently retired from professional teaching, coaching and international judging in athletics, George is now available as an executive coach through Geodesic Consulting.

George is a member of the U.S.A. Gymnastics Hall of Fame and has been honored internationally for his many contributions to athletics. A former gymnast and teacher, George has a distinguished career as a federation executive and has been honored by the Pan American Union, U.S.A. National Judges and Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique (F.I.G.).

George has been a judge for three Olympic Games: Athens (2004), Sydney (2000) and Barcelona (1992). For eleven years he also served as a World Championship judge, three times for the World University Games and three additional times for the Pan American Games. He was inducted into Frank Cumiskey Hall of Fame in 1993, USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame in 2002 and was named a 2003 F.I.G. Brevet Honorary Judge.

Through his long career of service to international gymnastics, George has a unique understanding and appreciation for foreign cultures and global travel. This experience brings rare cross cultural perspective for his work as an executive coaching professional.

Nicole Gruen - Strengthen leaders and broadening horizons

Nicole Gruen

Nicole Gruen is a coach who brings a wide array of expertise that helps executives to identify goals, strengthen their leadership skills, and improve their relationships with board members, peers, and subordinates.

A native of Germany, bilingual and multicultural, Nicole worked as an independent IT, process and management consultant for 14 years. She implemented, managed and maintained SAP projects in over 10 countries, working for companies like Motorola, Colgate Palmolive, IBM, Nestle, NVIDIA and Jarden Corporation. Her experience includes overseeing, leading, participating in, and managing international teams, as well as working with all management levels - from warehouse supervisors to CEO’s. This has given Nicole a thorough understanding of corporate structures and organizational dynamics.

Nicole’s coaching clients not only benefit from her strong business background and multicultural knowledge, but also from her ability to quickly get to the bottom of, and understand, an issue. This, coupled with her outstanding listening and problem solving skills, make her a sought-after consultant and coach.

Nicole has a degree in Computer Science. In her free time she is a ceramicist and is currently training for her third marathon. She has lived in California since 1995.
